Trump: Americans Who Died in War Are ‘Losers’ and ‘Suckers’
When President Donald Trump canceled a visit to the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery near Paris in 2018, he blamed rain for the last-minute decision, saying that “the helicopter couldn’t fly” and that the Secret Service wouldn’t drive him there. Neither claim was true.
Trump rejected the idea of the visit because he feared his hair would become disheveled in the rain, and because he did not believe it important to honor American war dead, according to four people with firsthand knowledge of the discussion that day. In a conversation with senior staff members on the morning of the scheduled visit, Trump said, “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.” In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as “suckers” for getting killed.

Trump Reportedly Called American War Dead ‘Losers’ and ‘Suckers’
Top military brass have long been frustrated with Trump’s record as commander-in-chief, from his failure to respond to Russian bounties on U.S. forces to his deployment of troops as campaign props and his tendency to craft his foreign policy in real time on Twitter. Now, according to a Military Times poll released earlier this week, that vexation is growing in the ranks: 49.9 percent of active-duty troops had an unfavorable view of the president (compared to 38 percent in favor), while Joe Biden had a four-point lead over Trump in the coming election.

Donald “bone spurs” Trump thinks Americans who die in war are “suckers” and “losers”
Trump, of course, is a draft dodger who got out of the war by getting a doctor to say he had bone spurs—which that doctor’s daughters now say was a made-up diagnosis. He also denigrated a Gold Star family during the 2016 election and famously proclaimed out loud, in public, that Senator John McCain wasn’t really a war hero because he was captured and spent five and half years in a North Vietnamese prison where he was routinely tortured. “I like people who weren’t captured,” Trump said in 2015, as only a despicable human being who knows deep down inside no one likes him and is terrified they’re going to find out that’s not his real hair color.

Trump denies report claiming he called dead American soldiers ‘losers’ and ‘suckers’
White House deputy press secretary Judd Deere also denied the report in a tweet, calling it “anonymously sourced story.” The Atlantic said it spoke with multiple sources on the condition of anonymity. The Associated Press said they confirmed some details in the Atlantic report. NBC News has not independently verified the report.
